Very interesting debut album from the pagan folk metal band Žrec from the south-east Czech Republic! “Žertva” came out in the begging of June this year from the Czech music label Murderous Production, as the 8 tracks on it are with a total playing time of 43 minutes. The band is strongly influenced by Moravian, Slovakian and Ukrainian folklore, for which helped joining of Ingvarr in the middle of 2005. The album starts with a short instrumental introduction, made by Ingvarr, and continues with the song of the same name “Žertva”. “Kamenný kult”, “Nový věk pohanský”  and “Krev předků” are remaked old songs of heathen subject from the band’s demo tape, which is recorded in 2006 and is titled Nový věk pohanský” (in English: “New age of paganism”). Musically, this are three harder songs with the typical for the entire composition loud and harsh vocals of Soulburner. “Nový věk pohanský” is a faster song, as in the second part of it the band mixed drums and violin in a unique way. Lystoczku czervenyjandRaráš Rakáša are two trucks filled with Ingvarr’s clean vocals and typical Slavonic folklore instruments. Nebeské stříbro Perunovo is a Nokturnal Mortum’s cover of their famous song Peruns Celestial Silver (from Lunar Poetry and “NeChrist”), but in Czech language.
