Compilation “Forest of Misanthropy” of Belgian black metal band is released in the beginning of 2007 from the French label Thor’s Hammer Productions. It contains 12 tracks from all official issues of the group with a total playing time around 74 minutes. The songs are close picked up from Inferis, the only member of LS in the moment after the death of the ideologist and a creator of the group Sarmak (R.I.P 11/09/05). Lycanthropy’s Spell make an unique style, similar to Moonblood, Burzum and Old Darkthrone, as they start with Old School and pass to Misanthropic Depressing Black Metal. “Forest of Misanthropy” begins with the introduction “Lunar Reflections” from L.R.O.T.N.S.I.M.A.A.D.” and continue with alternating aggressive songs with war conception with slow and depressing black metal. It is difficult to us to decide which songs are better, but after all we will distinguish several: In A Raging Battle”, “Cemetery Lights”, “Nocturnal Forest“, as well as the quite well made cover of the legendary German band Moonblood “Under The Cold Fullmoon” (Taken from the LS’s EP – “Tribute”). This release is dedicated to Sarmak.
